Casino Regina Mid-Winter Blues Festival
Casino Regina Mid-Winter Blues Festival!
Just a few more weeks until the 20th annual Casino Regina Mid-Winter Blues Festival! Blues week is February 24 - March 1, and features blues throughout the city all week long.
The Regina Blues Association has been hard at work producing the festival, and is extremely excited that the 2014 Grammy winner Charlie Musselwhite is headlining the Friday night show. Charlie won the Grammy with blues/pop/reggae artist Ben Harper. Musselwhite brings his San Francisco band to Regina for one night for our festival. This is a great opportunity to see a blues icon in person.
Musselwhite broke into the classic 1960s Chicago blues scene in its heyday. Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield, John Lee Hooker, and Buddy Guy owned the town, and Musselwhite became part of the fabric of the greatest era in blues. Moving to San Francisco, Charlie was an icon to the 1970 bands that broke ground in southern California. And now, as a blues powerhouse in 2014 with his week-old Grammy, Charlie Musselwhite graces the stage at the Casino Regina Show Lounge as part of this year's exciting Casino Regina Mid-Winter Blues Festival.
Get your tickets, tell your friends, and see 2014 Grammy winning Charlie Musselwhite up close and personal, right here in Regina on February 28. See you there!
