A Bit About Us...
The Regina Delta Blues Association has been in existence
in Regina since 1993. We are incorporated nationally and provincially
as a not-for-profit association.
How we came
about...
We
began in Regina in 1993. Our
best-known function is the annual Mid-Winter Blues Festival, and
the 2009 Festival will mark the 15th anniversary! Don't miss out
on the 2009 Festival, and remember, we do it for you.

Regina
Delta Blues Association was created with a
mandate to promote Blues and Blues related music and provide education
in the Blues genre to the general public and more specifically to
our membership.
RDBA
Activities: An important
part of our mandate is to provide performing opportunities to local
musicians in our festival, and to give them opportunities to play
in front of appreciative audiences.

Volunteer
Support
We
require assistance throughout the year from people seeking the satisfaction
of seeing a great festival produced locally here in Regina. We
seek volunteers to assist us throughout the festival. Tasks
include ticket-takers at the door of each venue, staffing our merchandise/CD
tables, and general clean-up.

Board of
Directors
Though the names and faces have changed over the
years, the current Board of Directors has that common entity that
all their predecessors possessed, a love of blues music coursing
through their veins. Directors are voted into position at
the Annual General Meeting, held in spring of each year. Vacancies
are created by resignation or upon expiry of office, which is every
2 years per Director.
So be sure to come back often!
We know you'll find something to your liking, no matter what your
level or area of interest in the Blues music scene.
Saskatchewan Recording Industry (SRIA) is a non-profit,
member-based association established in 1987, with recognized Provincial
Cultural Organization (PCO) status. We act as a conduit of information
to our members, providing them with direct links from other music
industry associations across Canada and internationally. We contribute
to the efforts made by lobby groups on a national level. We are
working towards the continued economic growth of our industry as
changes in technology bring new methods of distribution and delivery
of our recorded products.
Blue Roots Records was formed in 1995 with a mandate
to present, promote and record deserving blues artists on Canada's
West Coast. A short time after its formation, the label's fiirst
release, Kenny 'Blues Boss' Wayne's 'Alive and Loose', garnered
no less than four prestigious West Coast Blues Awards and received
a JUNO nomination as Canada's Best Blues Album.
Cordova Bay Entertainment Group (Victoria,
British Columbia), is forging a new path in the entertainment world
by addressing the multi-talents of our artists. While other entertainment
companies tend to "identify" and promote a single talent of an artist,
we seek out and promote all talents in a coordinated and synergistic
program. info@cordovabay.com
GSC is a small independent label that records a range
of artists, styles and genres. We love many types of music, but
like all small companies with limited resources, we can't afford
to back every artist that comes along. each one has to have the
highest potential. As such, we choose very few people to be on our
label - only those with exceptional talent make it. gscdata@saltspring.com
Justin
Time Records: Montrealer
Jim West founded Justin Time Records in 1983. The label's first
recording, inspired by a particularly swinging evening at a local
jazz club, was also pianist Oliver Jones' first foray into jazz
as a leader. Since then, the label has released more than 300 recordings.
Although Justin Time is recognized mainly as a jazz label, its catalogue
of recordings also features albums in the musical genres of blues,
gospel, world, comedy, film soundtracks and folk. info@justin-time.com
Make It Real Records is a label formed
by producer Lance Anderson. Our aim is to put the emphasis on recording
great artists and great performances. By using the advancements
in recording terchnology to serve the music rather than the other
way around. makeitreal@sympatico.ca
NorthernBlues Music (Toronto
Ontario) started in July 2000. The catalyst to starting a blues
label was the purchase of a Grit Laskin CD, over the internet in
1996, while stationed in Singapore for Intel Corporation. info@northernblues.com
